Swing check valve

The Swing Check Valve is a unidirectional flow control device designed to prevent reverse flow in piping systems. It operates automatically using a hinged disc (or “swing” mechanism) that opens with forward flow and closes tightly when flow stops or reverses, ensuring backflow protection and safeguarding pumps, compressors, and other equipment.

Swing check valves are widely used in water supply, wastewater treatment, fire protection systems, and industrial applications where low pressure drop and minimal maintenance are important. Available in a range of sizes and materials—such as cast iron, ductile iron, bronze, and stainless steel—these valves can be installed in both horizontal and vertical (upward flow) positions depending on the design.

Key Features:

  • Prevents reverse flow to protect equipment and maintain system integrity

  • Hinged disc design enables low pressure drop and quiet operation

  • Suitable for use in water, oil, gas, and non-corrosive fluids

  • Available in sizes ranging from DN50 to DN300 (2″ to 12″) or larger

  • Body materials: Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel
