Duckfoot bend

The Duckfoot Bend is a specialized fire protection pipe fitting designed to provide a smooth 90-degree downward transition from vertical riser pipes to horizontal pipework—commonly used in fire hydrant and fire pump systems. Its distinctive “duckfoot” shape ensures efficient water flow with minimal pressure loss while maintaining system integrity under high pressure.

Typically made from ductile iron or cast iron and coated for corrosion resistance, the duckfoot bend is engineered to meet industry standards for fire protection systems, including compatibility with flanged pipe connections.

Key Features:

  • 90-degree bend ideal for vertical-to-horizontal transitions

  • Constructed from high-strength ductile iron or cast iron

  • Epoxy-coated or hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance

  • Available in flanged, grooved, or threaded ends

  • Designed for use in fire hydrant risers, fire pumps, and wet riser systems

  • Tested for high-pressure performance in compliance with NFPA, UL, or FM standards

  • Sizes typically range from DN80 to DN200 (3″ to 8″)

  • Durable and easy to install in both indoor and outdoor fire systems
